Course Objectives: To introduce fundementals of anaerobic biochemical treatment, To introduce modelling of anaerobic systems and methods for obtaining necessary data, To introduce biogas production technologies in order to design and define the appropriate operational conditions for different kinds of wastewater streams.

The methods used for modeling of anaerobic processes and for obtaining the necessary data,

Design and operation of sludge digesters,

Design and operation of high-rate anaerobic bioreactors used for wastewater treatment,

Design and operation of anaerobic systems used for the treatment of domestic wastewaters,

Select the appropriate systems which allow diferent waste streams to be co-digested,

Determinethe most suitable waste/wastewater management among diferent anaerobic
treatment options.
