Description

In this seminar, a multidimensional and interdisciplinary database will be generated including information such as satellite images and cartography as well as field and meteorological data. The integration of field data and products derived from satellite imagery time series is a key aspect for urban forest assessment and management. The participants will collect, structure and enter the information in the system. Information on the necessary activities and technical needs in the restoration process or other actions associated to the territorial units will be also defined . Professors from different specialities will help the participants to collect organize and enter the information.
The objective of this seminar/workshop is the development of a Territorial Information System linked to the spatial information of the units included in the “Metropolitan Forest” and “Producer Neighborhoods”, projects led by the city of Madrid.
Participation requirements
The course/seminar is designed for undergraduate and graduate students. We expect a minimal background in remote sensing and / or programming, but we welcome any student with a strong interest in modern remote sensing approaches aimed at sustainability.
