Description

In order to raise awareness on the potential of technology to impact societies and stress the value of visionary thinking to improve people’s lives, our planet and the physical and digital ecosystems that will become our habitat of tomorrow, we have prepared a contest which has been preceded by five different lectures. These talks provided participants with an overview of literature in connection with engineering and technical developments, and gave them a framework and basic tools to turn their engineering knowledge -and its potential implications for humanity- into an engaging science fiction story.
Submissions for this innovative contest were open in June until October 8th. The contest was open worldwide to any university student and languages accepted were Spanish, English and Chinese. The submission phase has been a success. We have got over 100 stories from all over the World. Most of these submissions fell into the Spanish and Chinese categories, and a few into the EELISA category.

Involved Stakeholders:

Miguel L. San Gregorio is a MSc from the UPM and PhD from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), both in aerospace engineering.
Javier Fernández Díaz is a PhD from University of Barcelona and has specialized in EdTech and innovative teaching methodologies. He currently works in the Spanish Embassy in China (Ministry of Education of Spain) developing cooperation programs between the two countries.
