Course Description: Definition, importance and scope of natural water and nutrient cycle, Investigation of urban water cycle from a sustainable point of view, Water conservartion and reuse in industry and agriculture, Social, economic, regulatory, environmental and technological dimesions of wastewater recovery ve reuse, Resource recovery from wastewater, Paradigm shift from nutrient removal from conventional perspective to nutrient recovery from resource recovery perspective, Recovery techniques of nutrients, Role of water and resource recovery in circular economy.

M. Sc. students who successfully pass this course gain the knowledge, skills and competency
given below;
I. Having the current and high-level knowledge in the area of water and resource recovery
from wastewaters (knowledge).
II. Grasping the inter-disciplinary interaction related to sustainability, circular economy and
water cycle (knowledge).
III. The ability to evaluate and use information in the area of recovery technologies with a
systematical approach (skill).
IV. Applying the information on water and resource recovery technologies and process
knowledge to an existing wastewater treatment plant (skill).
