Description

Description:

PBF-LB (Powder Bed Fusion assisted with Laser Beam) enables manufacturing at industrial level of metal parts with complex designs.

However, printing different materials with this technology is strongly limited, which prevent further creativity and restrict properties improvement of 3D printed parts.

This internship aims in a first step to extensively and thoroughly explore the scientific literature to identify technologies, which combined with PBF-LB, would locally enable properties enhancement of a printed product by bringing different materials.

This literature review can be subject to publication depending on the results.

In the second step, a focus will be given on identifying applications and products for which local materials combinations during printing can be valuable.

Required competencies:

Analytical, methodic, open for innovation, curious
