Description

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research institutions throughout Germany and is the world’s leading applied research organization. Around 30 000 employees work with an annual research budget of 2.9 billion euros. 

Within the research project digital signal processing with artificial intelligence (DSAI) the Fraunhofer IIS has a decent view to the field of network orchestration for distributed machine learning tasks on the extreme edge. The objective is to develop a new technique to give access to idle resources on small devices and ask ourselves how to improve technical benchmarks like availability, latency or channel utilization as well as social benchmarks like privacy, green communications or even user experience related to state of the art wireless IoT-communications.

What you will do

You design and implement a two layered GUI architecture (Server and Client)You create a clear visualization of ad-hoc IoT network forming processes, data processing therein and selected parametersYou realize an interactive monitoring and command interfaceYou develop an intuitive parameter setting for network and IoT devicesYou extract/feed relevant data from/to a Python API

What you bring to the table

You are currently studying electronics and information engineering, media engineering or a similar fieldYou have programming skills in Python (preferred) or similarYou have experience in desktop or web GUI design and with command lineYou like working independentlyA bonus is a keen eye for visual details and user experience

Weekly working hours are determined by agreement, minimum are 10 hours per week. The duration for an internship is at least three months. You can reduce your hours before exams and increase them during semester breaks. You can flexibly determine the working days. After your studies, you have the option of working with us full or part time.
