Course Description: Urban Development Processes, Human Activities and Urban Systems, Demographic Change and Migration, Evolution of Urban Systems-Cycles of Urbanization, Urban Dynamics, Functional Urban Sub-Systems, Urban Systems Analysis, Urban Systems in Developed and Developing Countries, Globalization and Urban Networks, ICT and Its Impacts on Spatial Development, Urban Future-Urban Competition. Course Objectives: To describe the urban development processes and the determinant factors in these processes. To evaluate the evolution of urban systems-cycles of urbanization in developed and developing countries. To examine the impacts of developments in globalization and ICT on spatial development. To discuss the trends in urban systems and urban future.
